The Trustees of The Lettering & Commemorative Arts Trust are delighted to announce the appointment of an Executive Director of the Charity. Sarah Harrison will take on the leadership role as the founder, Harriet Frazer steps down after 27 years.
Sarah has over 17 years’ experience in arts management, fundraising, international marketing, journalism and sales development, gained in a variety of sectors in the UK, USA, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean.
Most recently Sarah has been working as part of the Diss Heritage Partnership, delivering big gift and corporate fundraising campaigns and applications to trusts and foundations.
Prior to that, In New York, Sarah managed relations between the US board of American Friends of Sadler’s Wells, the UK Sadler’s Wells board and US dance organisations. As part of that role she designed and implemented a fundraising strategy, managed financial reports, and built relationships with major donors to increase annual gift levels and diversify income opportunities.
On making the appointment Catherine Samy, Chair of the Trustees, commented: “the Trustees were thrilled by the quality of the applicants. We took this as a reflection of the opportunity presented by this unique organisation which Harriet and the team have built so carefully from its original roots in ‘Memorials by Artists’. Sarah stood out for her combination of relevant experience but also a natural empathy with the artform”.
