Ron Clarke (Treasurer)

Ron is currently Head of Finance at artsdepot in north London, was the Finance Director of the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation and has over 20 years experience of financial management in the third and private sectors.

Catherine Samy (Chair)

Catherine Samy joined Brunswick in 1988 to establish Merchant, the groups design and advertising arm. On graduating in Law from Bristol University, Catherine joined City brokers Laurence Prust and Co, on the Framlington fund management team. In 1984, she joined Valin Pollen International prior to starting Merchant in 1988.

Charlotte Howarth

Charlotte Howarth is a sculptor, designer, stone carver and letterer. Working in a variety of materials her work shows a deep sensitivity to line, pattern and texture and is imbued with a sense of fun and joyfulness.

Charlotte  is a full elected member of Letter Exchange, a society for professionals involved in the whole spectrum of the lettering artsIn 2005 she set up Making Marks Ltd, as a focus for her work within the public arena.

Martin Cook

Martin Cook comes from a family with a long history of stone carvers and artists dating back to 1730. Martin originally trained with stone sculptor Alec Peever, and assisted Michael Harvey with carvings at the Sainsbury Wing of the National Gallery. Martin set up his own workshop in 1994, and gained a growing reputation as one of the UK’s leading stone carvers and letter designers.

Martin was approached by Sir Norman Foster and subsequently commissioned by the British Museum to design and carve the lettering around The Great Court.

Martin has exhibited at RHS Chelsea Flower Show for the past 10 years and in 2011 he was awarded a silver/gilt medal for The Literary Garden and in 2013, a gold for The Mindfulness Garden. Martin continues to work on his own sculptural carvings and private commissions.
