I’ve always liked stones and rocks, their colours, textures and shapes. They seem to have a power and energy we are drawn to.
I like to carve and sculpt stone, and have been involved in creating public art works and in creating sculptures for exhibition. I find it equally satisfying, if not more rewarding to work with a client on a specific brief. It can be difficult at times to find the right stone or get the designs to suit but I see that as part of the creative process and journey to create a beautiful and unique memorial piece in stone.
I live in a cottage in a wooded valley by the sea in west Wales and travel to the southeast to visit family and Friends and to the West Country, the Lakes or Derbyshire for stone or slate, so am not restricted in the work I take on by where I live.
