Gates of Heaven by Incisive Letterwork (Annet Stirling)
Purbeck Vyebit
‘We found two unusually tall, thin pieces of stone in a quarry near Purbeck. They were slices off the same block, and their symmetry suggested gates to us – the gates of heaven. Finding the two quotes from Milton’s Paradise Lost was absolute luck. Our inspiration for the lettering came from ideas of forged iron; it’s designed to be simple, monoline, slightly fabricated.’
