‘I was once commissioned to illustrate John Milton’s poem ‘Lycidas’, and thought the famous closing lines would be very suitable for a headstone. I have used the image of the shepherd several times in my work.’    

At last he rose, and twitched his mantle blue:

Tomorrow to fresh woods, and pastures new.
