A fantastic one-day course with Louise Tiplady who’ll guide you through making your own lettered print from start to finish. No experience is necessary and a range of skill levels can be catered for.

Louise will carefully take you through each stage of the process including:
- Looking at letterforms
- Arrangement and composition
- The technical aspects of cutting and printing a lino block
- Techniques for how to print more copies from home using basic and readily available tools
LOUISE TIPLADY - trained as a stonemason at Weymouth College, where she graduated with distinction. Louise was the fourth student to start a two-year apprenticeship with Charlotte Howarth, learning the art of lettering and letter carving after working for five years as a stonemason/carver. This apprenticeship, funded by the Lettering Arts Trust and the Jerwood Charitable Foundation, has enabled her to pursue her interests in the lettering arts. Louise’s work is in high demand thanks to her unique sculptural style and letterforms. She is an elected full member of Letter Exchange.

Workshops will start prompt at 10am and finish at approximately 4pm.

All equipment and materials will be provided (although if you have your own tools feel welcome to bring them along) – you just need to turn up with plenty of enthusiasm, a few ideas of what you might like to do, an apron and your lunch!
Louise Tiplady will guide you through making your own linocut print, from start to finish. By the end of your workshop you’ll have created a print to take home. You don’t need to have previous experience for these one-day courses, just lots of enthusiasm and an apron!
