Alphabow by JAMES RYDER

Alphabow by JAMES RYDER

The Alphabow is made from a piece of steam bent Ash from The National Trust's Ickworth estate in West Suffolk. It forms the first step in an exploration of steam bent wooden forms and carved lettering.

The letterform is loosely inspired by the half-uncial lettering of early medieval Christian manuscripts.

Common Ash Fraxinus excelsior & Steel 1750mm tall by 200mm wide.
