Where Flowers Bloom by Zoe Singleton

£1,120.00

400 mm x 430 mm

Portland stone

Artist Statement:

After graduating from Goldsmiths College London, Zoe pursued a career in textiles working for large corporate companies before running her own holiday and events business. Zoe’s long-standing passion for geology led her to carving stone eight years ago.

Learning to carve stone felt like a natural way to express myself and the perfect link between art and geology.  A love of poetry and song is the source of inspiration for my letter cutting; it was a very natural progression from the sculptural and relief carving I was creating.

I believe life is always enhanced by learning: last year I attended John Neilson’s letter carving course in North Wales and I have recently completed a Calligraphy course with Yves Leterme both of which were extremely inspirational.
