Pig Pen by BEN JONES

Pig Pen by BEN JONES

Pig pen is a simple code that works by first arranging the letters of an alphabet within a grid and then using simple symbols denoting the position of each letter to write a text in code. Those who know (or deduce) how the alphabet is arranged will know which letter each mark refers to allowing them to read encoded texts.

I hope you like these pig pen letters. It should not take you too long to work out what they say. As codes go pig pen is not a particularly secure one. This is especially true if the key to the code is carved on the back of the encoded message.

Sandstone 27 x 45 cm.
