Our Patrons help us continue to grow
Become a Patron and enjoy a strong, close relationship with us. Not only will you have behind-the-scenes access to our exhibitions, and invitations to exclusive events with artists and curators, you’ll also be helping a vital part of our cultural heritage thrive.
We couldn’t be the organisation we are today without the generosity of our wonderful patrons. Quite simply, it is their support that has enabled us to develop into the UK’s only centre of excellence for the lettering arts. The Lettering Arts Centre is unique in that it is the only dedicated space where the different disciplines within the lettering arts of calligraphy, letter press, graphic design, font design, and typography converge. Mirabel Cecil, a regular large donor, has just endowed us with our current apprenticeship 2018 -2020 and has left a legacy for two further apprenticeships.
Patrons are vital to us, and to letter carving
The writer Mirabel Cecil has been a Patron since 2000. She has generously funded our 2018 apprentice scheme, which will run for two years. It is called the Lettering Arts Trust Sebastian Walker Apprenticeship in remembrance of her beloved brother Sebastian Walker, pioneering publisher of children’s books, Walker Books. Mirabel has also endowed the Lettering Arts Trust with a legacy to finance two further apprenticeships. It’s a wonderful gift which will help safeguard the future of this art.
