The majority of my work is done to commission, whether from architects, cathedrals and churches, public art agencies, local authorities or private clients.
The medium for the work will depend upon what is appropriate for a particular commission. This might be stone; bronze; wood; aluminium; slate; wrought-iron; plaster; concrete - or some combination of materials. Above all perhaps, I seek to make work that has the character of a wrought thing, rather than something ‘fabricated’ or produced by processes which are at some remove from a direct making of work.
All the commissions illustrated here were made as memorials, whether private or public.
