Customers come to me having found that trade suppliers of memorials are not able to meet their needs for something personal. Every memorial is a separate work of art, combining lettering with relief sculpture and stonemasonry.
I came to the craft after a business career in publishing. My training was at City of Bath College, lettering courses from the Lettering Arts Trust, and personal tuition from other artists and stone carvers.
My work builds on interests in design and sculpture extending back to schooldays and growing up in London, an interest that continued through my University days at Cambridge and my time at the Oxford University Press.
I live in Oxford and work from my studio near Woodstock in West Oxfordshire.
