Mark Brooks
Artist & Calligrapher Mark Brooks developed a passion for calligraphy and letter design from the age of nine, later studying lettering at the City & Guilds of London Art School under Dr Berthold Wolpe, Ralph Beyer and others. He completed a five-year apprenticeship in letter carving with Richard Kindersley before establishing a career as a lettering artist and memorial maker. He is now Creative Director of Artisan Memorials Ltd, specialising in bespoke headstones and plaques with hand-designed, V-carved lettering, from formal Roman to expressive calligraphic styles.
