Several cast iron memorials can be found in the nearby churchyard of St Andrew’s, as there was a foundry opposite.

‘I wanted to use cast iron, firstly because I think it is a much undervalued material – adaptable, durable, and can weather beautifully or be easily painted. Secondly, I like the sturdy Egyptian or Clarendon letters traditionally used for English cast iron street names.’
