Carving a Career - Emerging Carvers Symposium

  • The Lettering Arts Trust United Kingdom (map)

Do you want to learn more about developing your career as a letter carver or stone mason? Or maybe just learn more about the skills, training and knowledge it takes to make a living letter carving.

The Lettering Arts Trust is hosting a professional development symposium aimed at letter carvers and stone masons in the early stages of their careers.

Representing artists, professional advisors, and industry organisations, the speakers will offer insights into project management, collaboration, copyright, working with quarries, secure shipping, and more.

Among the presenters will be Charlotte Howarth & Sue Aperghis, talking about the newly unveiled Combined Services’ LGBT memorial; Nick Benson, a third generation American stone carver, letterer and owner of The John Stevens Shop in Newport, Rhode Island; and ACID who assist artists with copyright infringement and design theft. It is a day rich in content with opportunities for interactive questions and answers

The symposium is online making it accessible to participants from anywhere in the world. In 2023 people joined from as far away as Italy, USA and Canada.

Price for delegates is £25, please book via the link below.
