ABOUT THE ARTIST
Gary Breeze has a reputation for the innovative content of his work which has won him numerous public art commissions over the years, including the Bali Bombing Memorial at Horse Guards Road, London, (project managed and assisted by Martin Cook), and Christ Church Cloister fountain in Oxford. Both projects involved the extensive design and re-landscaping of two important architecturally sensitive sites.
Gary continues to exhibit widely and has won several awards, including the first Jerwood Contemporary Makers prize, and the prestigious Leverhulme Trust award for a twelve month artist residency at the University of Southampton department of Archaeology. His work is in many major collections.
Other work can be seen at: the Glasgow High Court, Little Sparta, Greenwich Millennium Gardens, the Imperial War Museum London, the New Scottish Parliament, the University of Southampton, Westminster Abbey, Glasgow Caledonian University, Eton rowing lake, Chatsworth Gardens and The Victoria and Albert Museum.
