Artist Statement:

I have been carving stone for the last 10 years. My career started off studying banker masonry at the Building Crafts College. After completing my studies, I moved to Somerset and worked as a banker mason for Wells Cathedral Stonemason Ltd for six years. This job gave me a wide range of experiences in all aspects of the stone industry, from carving to being a site manager. In 2017 I enrolled at C & G to study carving and lettering. This piece, ‘Kindness’ was designed and carved in my third year of studying. Probably my biggest influence in letter cutting and design is the work of Sepp and Wolfgang Jakob.
