Catalogue from the ‘In Concert’ exhibition held in the Snape Maltings concert hall gallery in 2017.

This festival of new work, which was created specially for the exhibition, celebrates the relationship of music and lettering, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the building of the concert hall.

The full colour reproductions, and artist’s statements, show the work of 27 top lettering artists, using the mediums of carving, calligraphy, print, needlework and more.

‘The title ‘In Concert’ encapsulates the mission of this collection - to provide a showcase of the skills of the best contemporary artists each offering their individual response to the power of music and in particular the power of the live performance.’
